Who this Policy Applies To

PolyStreamer ("we", "us", "our") provides our website, polystreamer.com, dashboards, accounts, and services (collectively the "Services") to "you". By using our Services, you agree to the terms in this Privacy Policy, as well as our Terms of Use. By agreeing to this Privacy Policy, or by using the Services, you confirm that you have read and understand this policy, and expressly consent to the information handling practices described herein. If you don't want us to collect or process your personal information in the ways described in this policy, do not use the Services.

Information We Collect

In summary, we only collect the information we need to provide, maintain, and improve our Services. When you use PolyStreamer, we collect information from three sources: if and when you provide it to us, automatically through your use of the Services, and from third party sources.

Information You Provide to Us

At times during your use of the Services, you may be asked to provide personal information, such as your name, email address, mobile telephone number. You may be asked to provide other information, including but not limited to video stream names, URLs, stream keys, and information related to your target video platforms, social media, or custom destinations (collectively, "Target Platforms".) For billing purposes, you may be asked to provide a credit card number, billing address or other billing information.

Information Collected Automatically

Like most online service providers, when you use PolyStreamer, our website, emails, or other services, we collect and record information that web browsers, mobile devices, and servers typically make available, including the browser type, IP address, unique device identifiers, language preference, referring site, the date and time of access, operating system, and mobile network information.

We collect log information when you use our Services — for example, when you log into your dashboard or make changes to your account. We store statistical information about your video streams, such as bitrate, framerate, resolution, bandwidth usage, time and duration. We may determine the approximate location of your device from your IP address. We collect and use this information, for example, to automatically select the closest servers, providing the fastest and most reliable network connections. We use cookies and similar technologies to help us identify and track visitors, usage, and access preferences for our Services, as well as track and understand email campaign effectiveness and to deliver relevant ads.

Information from Other Sources

We may obtain information from third parties and sources such as search engines, advertisers, or social networks. When connecting a Target Platform to PolyStreamer, we may also receive information like your name, email, or other information, including personal information.

Please refer to the privacy policies of the Target Platform you use with PolyStreamer (for example to Google Privacy Policy for YouTube).

How and Why We Use Information

PolyStreamer uses information about you for the purposes listed below:

Legal Bases for Collecting and Using Information

A note here for those in the European Union about our legal grounds for processing information about you under EU data protection laws, which is that our use of your information is based on the grounds that: (1) The use is necessary in order to fulfill our commitments to you under the applicable terms of use or other agreements with you or is necessary to administer your account — for example, in order to enable access to our website on your device or charge you for a paid plan; or (2) The use is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation; or (3) The use is necessary in order to protect your vital interests or those of another person; or (4) We have a legitimate interest in using your information — for example, to provide and update our Services; to improve our Services so that we can offer you an even better user experience; to safeguard our Services; to communicate with you; to measure, gauge, and improve the effectiveness of our advertising; and to understand our user retention and attrition; to monitor and prevent any problems with our Services; and to personalize your experience; or (5) You have given us your consent — for example before we place certain cookies on your device and access and analyze them later on.

Sharing Information

We share information about you in limited circumstances, and with appropriate safeguards on your privacy, as described below:

PolyStreamer does not sell our users' data. We aren't a data broker, and we don't sell your personal information to a data broker. Like many Internet companies, we may advertise our services, and we may display ads or promotions on our website. Under the California Consumer Privacy Act ("CCPA"), some advertising you see online and on our services might be considered a "sale" even though we don't share information that identifies you personally, like your name or email address.

Privacy of Your Video Content

PolyStreamer does not analyze or extract information from Your Video Content, with the exception of statistical information related to bandwidth usage for billing purposes. Nor does PolyStreamer store Your Video Content except as necessary to perform the functions of the Service.

PolyStreamer reserves the right to review Content if we have reasonable expectations of a violation of our Terms, or in response to a subpoena by law enforcement. But under typical use, PolyStreamer makes no attempt to decode, identify, or interpret the contents of Your Video Content. See our Terms of Use for more information on your rights and responsibilities related to Your Video Content.

How Long We Keep Information

We generally discard information about you when it's no longer needed for the purposes for which we collect and use it — described in the section above on How and Why We Use Information — except when we're legally required to keep it. As an example, we keep server logs that record information about visitors for approximately 30 days or less. We retain the logs for this period of time in order to, among other things, analyze traffic to PolyStreamer and investigate issues if something goes wrong on one of our websites. On the other hand, video is typically processed, buffered, and retransmitted in a matter or seconds, and is not stored long-term (unless storage is a specific feature of the Service, for example, DVR or recording services.)

Security

While no online service is 100% secure, we work very hard to protect information about you against unauthorized access, use, alteration, or destruction, and take reasonable measures to do so. We use secure technology in the transmission and processing of user data. However, the nature of the Internet makes it impossible to guarantee the security of transmitted data. PolyStreamer makes no warranties or representations as to the security and confidentiality of any data you transmit. Any data you transmit to PolyStreamer is at your own risk, and we cannot guarantee that information may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by any breach of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards.

Your Choices

You may refuse to submit personally identifiable information to PolyStreamer, opt out of marketing communications (look for an unsubscribe link in the email), or disable cookies in your browser. However, note that some features of the PolyStreamer Services may not function under these circumstances.

You may update or correct your personal profile information, billing information, email preferences, or cancel your account at any time on your dashboard, or if you cannot access your account, by emailing us at support@polystreamer.com.

Cookie Usage

Like many other sites on the Internet, PolyStreamer uses cookies — small text files containing data. For more details on how and why PolyStreamer uses cookies, what data we store, and your choices related to cookies, see our Cookie Policy.

Data Security

PolyStreamer has strict security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of information under our control. We use secure technology, privacy protection controls, and restrictions on employee access in order to safeguard your information. While we take precautions to protect sensitive information that's transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job, such as billing or customer service, are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers and servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

Please note that while we continually make every effort to implement safeguards to protect your personal information, the very nature of the Internet makes it impossible to guarantee the security of transmitted data.

Your Rights

If you are located in certain parts of the world, including California and countries that fall under the scope of the European General Data Protection Regulation (aka the "GDPR"), you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, like the right to request access to or deletion of your data.

Contacting Us About These Rights

When you contact us about one of your rights under this section, we'll need to verify that you are the right person before we disclose or delete anything. For example, if you are a user, we will need you to contact us from the email address associated with your account. You can also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf by giving us written authorization. We may still require you to verify your identity with us.

These measures include:

You can ask us for more information about the steps we take to protect your personal information when transferring it from the EU.

Although most changes are likely to be minor, PolyStreamer may change its Privacy Policy from time to time. We encourage visitors to frequently check this page for any changes to our Privacy Policy. If we make changes, we will notify you by revising the change log below, and, in some cases, we may provide additional notice (like adding a statement to our homepage, or sending you a notification through email or your dashboard).
